Crow Language Stories and Texts

The stories A Snake and A Mouse and A Boy, A Rabbit And A Fox have been adapted from Crow language learning materials produced by the Bilingual Materials Development Center in the 70s and 80s. These materials are currently being archived at the Little Big Horn Archive in Crow Agency, Montana. Do You Want To Play is a short narrative featuring two speakers, developed by Birdie Real Bird and Donna Old Elk. In an effort to aid learners of multiple proficiencies, the stories and texts displayed on this website feature an array of interactive features such as hoverable glossing (or word-by-word translations) and audio recordings of native speakers of Crow.
